There are times when you need to record your desktop and save it as a video file, maybe to illustrate a software bug to the developer or to train people in using certain applications. One way or the other, a program for recording the screen of your computer is a good idea. The Windows operating system features a capturing utility, but that works only for still images. The software allows saving the recording as an AVI file, by using different codecs installed on the user's system. Every codec has its own settings for configuring the quality and, thus, the file size. Moreover, the name of the recorded file can be thoroughly configured and can be set to include the current date and time, a certain prefix or it can be named manually.

AutoScreenRecorder can be easily minimized using the Standby button and it will run in the system tray, for not cluttering the desktop until it's required to be used again.
